Deer Abundance Estimation
Predator-Prey Spatial Ecology
I completed my PhD in 2023 under advisement by Dr. Jerry Belant at Michigan State University. My continuing doctoral research is conducted in collaboration with tribal biologist, Dr. Seth Moore, employed by the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. My research is supporting the Band's ongoing game management programs with analyses focused on spatial interactions of tribal subsistence species (moose and white-tailed deer) and their primary predator (gray wolves). This includes seasonal changes in resource selection by these species as well as comparisons of predator-prey interactions on the Grand Portage Indian Reservation and on Isle Royale National Park (recently identified as a traditional cultural property of the Grand Portage Chippewa).

Cause-Specific Ungulate Mortality
Working alongside a team of wildlife scientists, I am currently conducting research examining the causes of mortality among North America's native ungulates. This includes examinations of predation, hunter harvest, landscape attributes, and more as they are associated with ungulate mortality. This work is being conducted under advisement by Dr. Jerry Belant at Michigan State University.

Snapshot USA
The Snapshot USA project is led by researchers at the Smithsonian Institute. This collaborative effort brings together researchers from around the world to monitor mammals with motion-activated game cameras during September and October. I have been contributing to this project since its inception in 2019 and am always open to collaborations using these data.
